Empowering Menstruating Women

By purchasing feminine hygiene products for their staff, corporates  subsidise the provision of pads in underprivileged schools, reducing scholar absenteeism.

Why Zero Waste

In a world where periods are considered taboo, our aim is to change the narrative and empower every South African woman, one sanitary product at a time.

We want to give menstruators the space to flourish without allowing their monthly cycle to limit them in any way from achieving success.

Making sanitary products free and accessible in workplace environments removes stress and a loss of working hours if an employee is caught unprepared (86% of menstruators have started their period in public without the necessary products).

Making sanitary products free and accessible in schools removes stigmatisation and, most importantly, increases attendance. Period poverty affects 7m South African girls and contributes to 60% of learners dropping out of school.

And for every feminine hygiene product that a workplace buys, another is provided to a school programme to empower disadvantaged scholars and ensure they can continue their studies without distraction.

Workplaces

Access to sanitary products is a pressing issue - perhaps compounded by the post-Covid return to the workplace. All women experience moments where they are unprepared and consequently suffer the indignity of a run to the shops, taking away valuable working time. Or even more painfully, asking their co-workers if they have a spare pad or tampon. Sanitary products are arguably just as important as having toilet paper and hand soap in your bathroom, let Code Red take care of this for you.

Scholars

Each month 30% of South African school girls skip school for a few days due to their period. Code Red aims to reduce this statistic significantly, and this can be done with your help. By investing in your female employees, you will also be helping girls who have no access to sanitary products at all. For every feminine hygiene product you purchase for your employees, one will be provided to a school in need.

Environment

We’re all about sustainability and therefore the sanitary pads we provide to our subscribing  corporates are 100% biodegradable. Not only that, they are made of 100% pure cotton, providing an ultra-soft feel against your skin and are probably the most luxurious pads you will come across. From the actual product down to the packaging - zero plastic waste is involved and everything is fully biodegradable (our tampons, while also made from organic cotton, contain minute amounts of soluble plastic). The amount of plastic waste that comes from the manufacturing and use of period products is astounding. With your support, a long-lasting positive impact on the environment is achievable.
